1. Overview

Relara ("we", "our", "the app") is a cycle-awareness relationship app. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

2. Data We Collect

  • Cycle data — cycle length and last period date, stored locally on your device only.
  • Interaction signals — which insights you tap, content preferences, and app usage patterns. Stored locally on your device.
  • Notification preferences — whether you enable notifications and your preferred time. Stored locally.
  • Anonymous analytics — anonymised usage events (screen views, funnel steps) sent to PostHog. No personally identifiable information is attached to these events.
  • Subscription status — whether you have an active subscription, managed via Apple in-app purchases. We do not store payment details.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information unless you explicitly provide it.
  • We do not sell your data to third parties.
  • We do not share your health or cycle data with advertisers.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.

4. Local-First Storage

All personal and health-related data (cycle dates, interaction history, preferences) is stored exclusively on your device using browser local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

5. Analytics

We use PostHog (EU-hosted) for anonymous usage analytics. Events are tied to a random anonymous device ID, not to your identity. PostHog is GDPR-compliant. You can opt out by disabling analytics in Settings.

6. Push Notifications

If you enable notifications, we schedule them locally on your device. Daily reminders and phase-change alerts are generated on-device and do not pass through our servers.

7. Subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed by Apple via in-app purchase. We receive confirmation of your subscription status through Apple's systems. We do not store your payment information. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID Settings at any time.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Delete your data (use Settings → Delete My Data, or contact us)
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

9. Data Retention

Since all personal data is stored locally on your device, you control retention entirely. Use Settings → Delete My Data to remove all stored data at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.

10. Children

Relara is not directed at children under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
